Happy Thanksgiving. We are full and ready to snuggle in with a movie tonight. Mom is here and we cooked this afternoon. Noah has been in sick all week with horrible cold, today he is feeling much better. Tomorrow he and Mark are going to work the Razorback game (vs LSU). The Boy Scouts work to help their troop raise money.

This has been a big week for Jacob -- He graduated at Karate and earned his yellow belt. He read the Thanksgiving Poem at school -- he is becoming really good with the microphone. He was also the Star Student of the month out of his class.

Tomorrow is BLACK FRIDAY and I am NOT going out. (for the first time in many years) there was nothing in the ads that would cause me to get up at 3:30 A.M. this year.

Hope you all are full of Turkey. We are about to have our Pumpkin Pie here in a little while. Rest a little bit more this week-end because there is something on the calendar for every day in December -- WILD!

Happy T-Day

We are still awaiting the results of the Turkey Day game..........WG vs K

The Dog Ate the Homework!!!!

I am NOT a fan of homework. What good is it and it actually punished the PARENTS.

We are in a homework frenzie this week. Tuesday, Noah brought home homework.....about 65 pounds worth in his back pack. He missed two days of school due to our trip to Kansas...all his make up work was actually finished this was work that had been asigned that day. He started on it at 4:45 and at 11;45 we were still at it. Mark and I were both helping him ( he better get an A on that patriotic symbols poster that I --oooppps HE made) Mark was helping with Math. we finally convinced him at 11:45 to go on to bed. Waking up to unfinished homework is not a good thing either. I took him to school and "discussed" with his teachers that I felt that was way to much for one night. No, he was not goofing off and not getting it done. He took a 15 minute break to eat dinner and he read while he ate and we all took turns reading outloud while we ate.

Homework is good if you need to finish something, work on a project over a few nights, study for a test...but over 300 math problems in one night as well as all the other subjects is a little much for me. Good thing it wasn't Scout night.

how are these kids suppose to carry all that weight on their backs?

Tonight, he did homework from 5:00 until 9:30 with a quick break for church.

Jacob carried his own fairly large load of homework the last couple of nights as well.

Another night like the past two and yes....THE DOG WILL EAT THE HOMEWORK!

O.K. it is 11:00 p.m. as I type this and Jacob is cleaning the basement because he can't sleep. Before cleaning he was setting up his homework station and filling out his 2009 calender.

Hoping for better Thursday of NO HOME WORK FOR ANYONE!!

Happy Cool Fall Sunday

It was a cool fall day here. Cool enough that my feet have been cold all day. We did the first round of Sunday pictures ---- you know..trying to capture the perfect Christmas card photo. Since Sunday a.m. is always a good time I bribe them out of bed with hot cinnamon rolls or fresh doughnuts from our favorite spot. I know our fall pics are always in front of the same tree or window of the house.

enjoy the cooler weather... I am.

pumpkins are packed away and the tree is coming out!

Wednesday November 5th

The ads will now stop....yea! Harrison and I did stay up last night until a winner was announced. I was expecting to stay up much later than 11:15. In Jacob's words "history is now invented".
May God be with them all and US as we serve our nation.

More importantly.......the karate jacket was found...imagine...it was folded neatly in the spot that Jacob hangs his back pack and coats....imagine something where it was suppose to be. Mark had sat an older briefcase in there and I did not see the jacket.

Friday Night Rumble is now down to only 4 boys.

Yesterday I went to the alteration shop to pick up the 15 pairs of long pants for the boys.....when I arrived they told me another customer had been given the pants. Finally last night they called back to say that they had been returned....what a panic. I know if you are reading this and knew my Grandmother you are probably thinking..Julie, don't you sew??? NO I do not. patches/yes, cross stitch/ yes, crafty sewing/yes, hemming and alterations/NO.

Happy Wednesday to everyone. Just think when you come to AR to visit you can now buy a Lottery Ticket. watching the returns last night just made me laugh a little. One of the names on our Ballot was Bubba. We are in AR!!!!

A full week and the pictures to prove it!!!

Monday --- Scout Night. Jacob earned his Bear Badge and his Whittling Chip ( He can now carry a pocket knife -- oh my!) Mark decided that we would have "The Pocket Knife Ceremony" when we got home. The next few pics are of Noah passing down the Cub Knife to Jacbo and Mark giving Noah the officical Boy Scout Knife.

It was Red Ribbon Week at school -- Crazy Hair Day -- You are crazy to do drugs.

2 1/2 hours of standing in line to vote. The good part is A) I am done and B) it was at the library and I HAD to stand in front of the new books section for over 45 minutes.

sorry I could not delete this pic.

Trunk or Treat at church. Noah the cool green headed rocker

Bobo Fett, Jango Fett ......forgive me I do not know my Star Wars people very well. You would think I would at my house.

Jacob's school had a patriotic assembly yesterday. All the classes performed, it was very well done. (Obama won)

Jacob leading the school in the pledge and the national anthem

And that is what a full week at our house looks like. WHEW!! It is Saturday and JAcob is on a Scout outing, Mark is in Dallas and I am about to take a few 11 year olds to a paint ball party. While they are at the party I HAVE to sit and read .....oh shucks!
Next Week.........a lot more quiet around here.
