O.K. for our St.Louis readers who are tired of snow and winter.....we finally had our day. They called off school at 5:30 this morning and there was nothing on the ground....the weather man was so sorry at 8:00 because there was still nothing on the ground after the last 24 hours of them warning us of a HUGE storm in the metro area. Finally about 10:00 we looked out and there it was. We might only get a inch or two but in an area where it never snows it is great for us. On the flip side...since it doesn't snow much here we are not prepared...no snow shovel, no sleds, I had to hunt for gloves and hats that would work. Cardboard boxes make great sleds and we do a perfect hill. Sand Castle molds made perfect snow castles. Our forest in the back looks like a winter wonderland. Hot Coco with cool whip to warm you up is the best for break time. The boys clothes are drying for round two since the snow is still coming down and they are getting the army men together to go back out to the snow castles.
So, do I go shopping for winter stuff while it is on sale, shovels, sleds, etc...... if I do it will not snow again for years here. The last time it snowed like this Noah was in Kindergarten.
I am catching up on stuff here...reading, PTA paperwork, Scrap booking and of course laundry.
I am trying to finish two books...Becky (about Becky Thatcher) and The Shack both VERY different but both very good. I am also reading THE ROAD for book club. Normally I am not such a multi task reader but they all have my attention right now.
Today was to be Noah's tour day of Middle School. YIKES! Middle School time! Next week is also when He and Mark get to go to band class at the middle school...this is when they go and look at each instrument and decide which one Noah is going to play. At school now they are taking all kinds of tests to determine which classes and which A.P. groups etc..... can't believe he is ready for all of this.
Enjoy your weather whatever it is. We are warm and having fun. Poor Mark, the Hospital still goes on so he is at work today but hopes to come home early.
